BRADFORD’S National Science and Media Museum plans to “shout about” its huge IMAX screen by installing a large new sign on the building.
The museum has submitted a planning application for new signage, including illuminated lettering on its frontage spelling out IMAX, and new signage on the rear of the building, facing the museum’s car park.
Its 60 foot tall IMAX screen is the biggest in the region.
A museum spokesperson said: “As part of our ongoing improvements and commitment to film, which in recent years has included our partnership with Picturehouse Cinemas and an £800,000 upgrade to the IMAX theatre, we’ve submitted a proposal for an exterior IMAX sign. We often have the large banner on the front of the building dedicated to the latest IMAX blockbuster, but if approved this will be a permanent sign shouting about the region’s biggest screen.”
