A TAXI driver who smoked inside his cab and left cigarette butts in the street, has been ordered to pay £165 in a fine and costs by Skipton magistrates.
Mohammed Nawaz, 26, pleaded guilty by letter to two charges of smoking in a taxi - a smoke free place - in Swadford Street, Skipton, on July 1 last year, and to dropping a cigarette butt at the same time and place.
Nawaz, of Westview Grove, Keighley, was fined £50 and ordered to pay costs of £85 and £30 surcharge for the charge of smoking in a smoke free place. There was no separate penalty for throwing down or depositing litter.
