A GUN was fired at a house in a "targeted shooting" just yards from a secondary school.
This morning saw a section of road outside Bradford Forster Academy, in East Bowling, cordoned off while police investigated a shooting that damaged a house on Fenby Avenue.
A window of the house had been shattered in the shooting, and police have linked a burned out car a short distance from the scene to the incident.
One resident told the Telegraph & Argus that is was "worrying" that such an incident had happened, especially so close to a school.
As well as being on the doorstep of the academy, the scene of the shooting is also a short distance from Lower Fields Primary School.
Anyone who witnessed the incident has been asked to help police in their investigation.

Police were called to the scene at 11.29pm on Wednesday after receiving a report of a window being damaged and loud bangs.
Firearms officers attended the scene and confirmed the damage to be consistent with a gunshot.
No one is thought to have been injured in the incident.
West Yorkshire Police’s Firearms Prevent Team is leading the investigation into the incident, which is being treated as a targeted attack, a force spokesman confirmed this morning.
Detective Chief Inspector Jaz Khan said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage and we are looking into the possibility that a car found burnt out in Brompton Road a short time later is linked to the discharge.
“We believe the suspects would have fled the scene in a vehicle and would be keen to hear from anyone who may have seen any suspicious activity in the area, or anyone who saw a vehicle driving away from the area at speed at around the time stated. Local officers will be patrolling the area today to offer reassurance to any residents who may have concerns.
“Anyone who can assist the investigation is asked to contact the Firearms Prevent Team on 101, quoting log 1978 of January 24.
"Information can be reported anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
This morning children arriving at school found a police cordon has been put in place around the targeted house, which is directly opposite the school. Two police cars remained at the scene, and the road was closed to traffic.
A statement on the Academy’s website said: “Vehicle access to Fenby Avenue has been closed this morning. If you are approaching by car you will need to use the Wakefield Road entrance. Access by foot has not been restricted. School is open as normal.”
The school had also been put on alert in on November 16 after reports of a teenager with a rifle on Fenby Avenue. Police were called, but it was later discovered that the gun was an air rifle.
One resident who lives near the targeted house, who asked not to be named, told the Telegraph & Argus about the frightening evening.
He said: “It is worrying. It used to be so quiet here.”
Describing what he heard the night before, he said: “I heard two bangs going off.
“I knew instantly it was not just bangers going off. It sounded much more like gun shots.
“I ran outside to see what was happening and saw someone running away. I wasn’t sure if they had anything to do with the shooting.
“It took police about 10 minutes to get here. At first there were just a few officers but there were more later on, probably when they realised what had gone on.
“They blocked the whole road off at the top.
“I went back to bed at about 12.30am, but I didn’t get much sleep.
“It is the second incident in the past few months. A few weeks ago there was a boy with an air gun who was pointing it at the school. When that happened there were a few parents who wouldn’t let their kids come to school the next day.
“It is a shame because the school is really good, and the residents have a really good rapport with the staff.”
A spokesman from the academy said they could not comment on the matter.
