THE council has rejected plans for a Grade II-listed property in Little Germany to be turned into a restaurant and takeaway.
The proposals would see the "semi-dilapidated" ground floor of the 36 Peckover Street building become a restaurant with room for 26 diners. Documents say plans would "regenerate the building, bringing a fresh use to it and taking it back to its original glory."
Outlines include a separate room to be used as a takeaway collection point.
But council officers said there was not enough information in the application for them to consider it and further details are needed "to ensure the fabric of the host building is not harmed."
The planning notice said there were also concerns about how the residential areas of the property would be kept secure from the public areas of the building, such as the restaurant.
