THE official artist for the Tour de Yorkshire 2018 has been named as Lucy Pittaway for the third time in a row.

And this year, instead of creating just one official artwork, she will produce a series of five prints to be unveiled at the Alhambra Theatre on March 21 as part of Welcome to Yorkshire's flagship event.

The show will be free of charge and aims to attract tourists to the area.

Lucy said: “I am thrilled to be asked to be the official artist for the Tour de Yorkshire for a third successive year. With my home town of Richmond being an official start, it makes this year even more special.

"I hope to create something that will be seen as a unique memento of an incredible race and spectacle in our region, and I am once again incredibly proud to be a little part of the event.”

Lucy's first commission for the race in 2016, titled 'Hills, Dales and Wooly Tails,' was popular with cyclists and art fans.
