THE police helicopter was deployed to Bradford today in the hunt for a stolen car.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police confirmed the helicopter was over the city and assisting the police.

He said: "Police attended Northallerton Road, Bradford, at around 3.04pm today after receiving information about a suspected stolen vehicle.

"The vehicle was found parked up and unattended.

"It is believed to have been stolen from the Girlington area in the early hours of today and has been recovered for further inquiries."

A Twitter message from NPAS Carr Gate stated: "14:55hrs, Bradford. Assist ground patrols to locate a stolen VW Golf R32 emitting a tracker signal."

It is understood that the seats and car system had been stolen from the vehicle. The seats are believed to be valued at between £1,500 and £2,000.
