PLANS to create more flats in a city centre redevelopment project have been submitted to Bradford Council.

Last year Dewsbury based Park Developments were granted planning permission to convert the vacant second floor, and part of the first floor, of 202-206 Leeds Road into 10 apartments.

Work has already started on the scheme, and now the company has submitted plans to turn the building's empty third floor into flats too.

The new application will see the floor, currently used as warehouse space, divided into three two bed flats, three one bed flats and three bedsits.

The prominent building is near the road’s junction with Shipley Airedale Road, and the application describes it as being “walking distance from The Broadway development.”

There is a gym and kitchen showroom on the ground floor.

The application adds: "New housing has been proven to boost economic activity and development-led regeneration can make a valuable contribution to local economic growth."

A decision on the application is expected next month.
