ATTITUDE will be key for City at Yeovil tomorrow, according to Stuart McCall.
The Bantams are firm favourites against a home side currently fifth from bottom in League Two – and struggling to put a team together because of suspensions, injury and loan recalls.
But McCall is determined to avoid a third-round “banana skin”.
He said: “The board would have liked us to be going to the Etihad or someone like that. The players would have probably preferred a home game, although it gives our pitch a breather.
“It’s a long journey but we’re against a side from the division below so it gives us an opportunity. That’s so long as we’re focused and show the right attitude.
“There are always ‘banana skins' in the cup and it’s a tricky game. The pitch won’t be great at this time of year so that might be a leveller.
“We definitely want to go as far as we can. A cup run lifts the players and supporters and you just want to get a winning culture in your club.
“The finance is huge if you can get a big club at home next round. But we’ve got to make sure we’re in the hat first.”
