A MAN has been arrested at a Birstall motel on suspicion of attempted murder.
The Oakwell Motel, on Low Lane, was behind a police cordon last night after officers found a man they were looking for following a stabbing.
Police were called around 11.12am yesterday following a report that a woman had been stabbed at an address on Baker Street in Morley.
The victim, a 41-year-old woman, was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to hospital for treatment where she remains in a serious but stable condition.
The suspect, a 35-year-old man was arrested at the hotel in Birstall a short time later. He remains in police custody.
Police scenes remain in place whilst the enquiries continue.
A police spokesman said: "Anyone who has any information about the incident is asked to call Leeds District CID via 101 quoting 13170596462."
