MORE than 1,000 food items have been donated to two Bradford foodbanks.

Bradford Central Foodbank and Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank will share the donations from staff at social housing group Incommunities.

Geraldine Howley, Incommunities group chief executive, said: “Every year, staff and board members pull out all the stops to give so generously to support local families and individuals in need .

“I would like to thank everyone who has donated items to Bradford Central Foodbank and Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank. This year’s collection has topped previous years.”

Ken Leach, foodbank co-ordinator for Bradford Metropolitan Food Bank said: “Everyone at the foodbank is so appreciative of the fantastic donations made by Incommunities staff.

Ruhamah Nicolson, of Bradford Central Foodbank, said: “Many families and individuals are struggling to make ends meet and this time of year can really bring home this hardship.”
