A PARROT was rescued from a tree in Girlington this afternoon.
Firefighters from Bradford Fire Station were called to Washington Street at around 3pm, where the bird, named Rio, was stuck.
An aerial ladder platform was used to rescue the colourful creature and reunite it with its owners.
Watch Commander Simon Moore said: "Sometimes it's a bit hit and miss whether you can get them out of trees.
"You go up to get them and sometimes they will fly away or go further into the tree.
"Luckily we managed to get him. The owners were very thankful. He must have been flying around the house and gone out of a window."
Firefighters spent around half an hour at the scene.
