A MAN had to be taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation after a grill fire in his house.
Firefighters from Bingley were called to Shelley Court, Bingley, at just after 9am this morning.
Watch Manager David Dixon said the grill pan, which was attached to a cooker, had set on fire while it was being used for cooking.
The oven had to be removed and firefighters then put the blaze out using a hose reel.
A man in his 40s was taken to hospital to be checked over for smoke inhalation.
Watch Manager Dixon said there was a smoke detector in the property, which warned residents of the fire and meant they were able to quickly call the fire brigade before the blaze became more serious.
He urged people without working smoke detectors to contact their local fire station to get them fitted.
