ATTENDING the premiere of the latest Star Wars movie was all in a day's work for Calverley's Umar Hussain.

Stepping out on to the red carpet for the glitzy European launch of Star Wars 8 The Last Jedi at the Royal Albert Hall in London this week was the culmination of the latest chapter in the 25-year-old's film making career.

The former Bradford Grammar School pupil said in a previous interview: "I didn't dream or anticipate I'd get the chance to work on Star Wars as it seemed quite a far reaching goal! But I'm very happy to have the chance to work on Episode 8 after really enjoying working on Episode 7."

Umar's meteoric rise developed from his love of films. He had a particular penchant for Disney films during his childhood and now he is literally living the dream after landing the role of Visual Effects Line Producer at Industrial Light & Magic (ILM), the visual effects branch of Lucasfilm now owned by Disney.

Proud father, Zulfi Hussain MBE, a successful businessman who also runs the Bradford-based charity Global Promise, says: "We are all extremely proud of him. He has had such a meteoric rise in his career so far. He has done phenomenally well and long may it continue."
