SILSDEN have claimed yet another Macron player of the month award in Division One of the Hallmark Security League.

Joe Gaughan took the honour in August, and was followed by Kyle Hancock in September and now Niall Sultan in November.

Right winger Sultan was instrumental in the Cobbydalers keeping their place at the top of the table last month.

A mixture of lightning pace, good dribbling and accurate crossing, Sultan's ability was appreciated by his team-mates, and he also found time to score some goals himself.

He netted in Silsden's 4-2 victory at New Mills at the start of the month and, after tormenting Daisy Hill's rearguard in a 5-1 triumph, his stand-out performance came in the 4-0 win at Prestwich Heys, where his pace troubled their defence throughout as he had an assist for their third goal and was upended in the box for Silsden's fourth.

The Cobbydalers' next game was at Holker Old Boys, which was their first defeat of the season, but Sultan was unlucky not to score and might well have been awarded a penalty in the second half.

Injured in the West Riding County Cup defeat to Tadcaster Albion after 18 minutes, Sultan returned for the last game of the month – a 1-0 win against Nelson, and was again influential.

Silsden's match at FC Oswestry Town last Saturday was called off due to snow – the home side's first postponement in a long time – and follows their call-off at Bacup Borough, due to a mixture of a frozen pitch and waterlogging, the previous weekend.

On Saturday, the Cobbydalers hope to return to league action at 13th-placed Atherton LR.
