CINDERELLA, you shall go to the ball...

Bradford's Debenhams store was filled with cries of ‘She’s behind you’ today, when shoppers were treated to appearances from the cast of this year’s Alhambra pantomime, Cinderella.

Cinderella was browsing the retailer’s vast occasionwear selection, while Prince Charming helped customers try on their heels in the shoe department and the Ugly Sisters tried to make themselves look pretty in the Beauty Hall. The cast were spreading festive cheer, as part of Debenhams #youshall campaign helping shoppers find their ‘Fairytale Christmas’.

Emma Doherty, store manager at Debenhams Bradford, said: “It has been wonderful bringing a taste of the theatre to Debenhams. The surprise on shoppers’ faces when they saw cast members walking around the store was great, and to be able to give away pantomime tickets has been fantastic. Christmas is a magical time in Bradford and we are delighted to have given a few lucky shoppers a Fairytale Christmas.”

Sarah Goggin, who plays Cinderella, said: “Fairytale characters need to do their Christmas shopping too! I found several new dresses as well as a new beauty product for my step-sisters which should surely help out.”

The Ugly Sisters, played by Graham Hoadly and Yorkshire performer Jack Land Noble said: “We found the perfect ball gown for the festive season - let’s hope one of us lands a Prince Charming too.”

Cinderella runs at the Alhambra from Saturday, December 16 to Sunday, January 28.
