BRADFORD Interchange remains the most used railway station across the district, although passenger numbers did fall over the past year.

According to annual station usage data by the Office of Rail and Road (ORR), there were 2,976,052 passenger entries and exits at the Interchange in 2016/17, down 0.6 per cent from 2,993,340 the previous year.

All other stations in the Bradford district saw an increase in passenger numbers, with Bradford Forster Square the second most used with 2,112,894 passenger entries and exits, up from 2,065,658 in 2015/16, and Shipley in third, with 1,744,520 entries and exits, up from 1,739,258 in 2015/16. The biggest increase was seen at Apperley Bridge, which opened in December 2015, which saw passenger numbers rise 263 per cent from 96,418 in 2015/16 to 350,312 last year.
