GREEN Party co-leader Jonathan Bartley took a selfie with refugee English language students when he visited Bradford city centre.
The politician (pictured with students) was at Bradford Action for Refugees, in Piccadilly, on Wednesday to see a lesson taking place ahead of the anniversary of the Dame Louise Casey Review into opportunity and integration.
Mr Bartley said: “Joining in an English lesson with refugees, migrants and asylum seekers brought home just how important the opportunity to learn English is.
“Those coming from abroad need to overcome huge obstacles. And the biggest of all is the language barrier.”
Councillor Hawarun Hussain (Green, Shipley) said: “It’s great that Jonathan has come up to Bradford to see the great work being done to make refugees feel welcome.”
