First time buyers will be able to buy almost any home in Bradford without paying Stamp Duty under changes announced in today's Budget.
The Chancellor of the Exchequer, Phillip Hammond, has abolished stamp duty for first-time buyers on homes sold for less than £300,000 - saving buyers about £5,000 on their transaction.

And variations in house prices around the country means Bradford is one of the best places in the UK to take advantage of the new policy.
Research by online estate agent HouseSimple shows 96% of properties currently up for sale in Bradford are listed at less than £300,000 and so will qualify for the exemption.

By contrast, barely 5% of the nearly 50,000 homes currently up for sale in London are less than £300,000.
