A LOCAL business dropped by a Bradford school to help inspire its pupils to be the next generation of chefs.

Leno Massimo from Mamma Mia's in Bradford city centre visited Peel Park Primary on Thursday to talk to pupils about how he got into the restaurant business, and what they can achieve if they set their minds to it.

He brought chef Nicola Tirotto, who taught the children how to make their own pizzas which they then cooked and took home.

It was part of the school's 'engage’ programme, which invites inspiring people from Bradford's diverse community into school to share their experiences and provide them with social and life skills.

Mr Massimo said: "It was good to provide the kids with a bit of inspiration.

"Something so simple like this can really prepare kids for the future. Everyone had a really good time, all the kids made their own pizzas and they were all edible!"

Kathryn Noble, Assistant Head Teacher at Peel Park Primary said: "Through our nurture programme we aim to have a significant impact on improving attendance, behaviour and academic achievement and as a school our journey has only just begun."
