A HOUSING company has donated cash to help re-develop a property owned by a primary school.
Cleckheaton based Jones Homes gave £500 to Heaton Avenue Primary School on South Parade.
The group has recently completed its own development at Park View Green and was approached for assistance by the school. The project includes general building works, repairs and decoration throughout, as well as the installation of a new kitchen, toilets and sinks.
When completed, the property will provide space for the school to offer extended free childcare for parents, as well as being used by the community as a meeting place or a location for clubs to meet.
Work has now commenced on the building, and the school is working with a team of builders as well as apprentices from Kirklees College.
Head Michelle Lee said: “We are all very excited about this project. It is great news that work is now underway and are grateful to Jones Homes for their generous support. We do still need help from local companies, such as monetary donations or services offered free of charge, and hope that the Cleckheaton community will get behind us.”
