A MAN has been arrested after a car failed to stop for police in Bradford and collided with another vehicle this afternoon.

A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said the red Vauxhall Astra car was believed to have been stolen during a burglary in Cleckheaton yesterday and failed to stop for officers at Bolton Junction, Bradford, at 1.33pm today.

The car sped off along Bolton Road towards the city centre and at 1.35pm crashed into a red Citroen C4 near the junction of Boars Well Drive and Bolton Road.

Police reported "runners" from the Astra and an 18-year-old man was caught and arrested in Valley Road in relation with the incident.

An ambulance was called for the driver of the C4 but was cancelled after the driver said he would make his own way to hospital if needed.

Police remained at the scene directing traffic while the vehicles were removed.

An onlooker said: "There's a fair bit of damage to both cars."
