A CAR was destroyed in an early morning blaze today, and the fire damaged a nearby vehicle and fence.
At 4.35am a fire crew from Fairweather Green was called to Shelley Grove after reports of a car fire. When they arrived they found that a VW Polo parked on the street was alight.
The vehicle destroyed the VW, and caused heat damage to a neighbouring car and the fence of a house.
The cause of the fire is currently being investigated.
Residents reported being woken up an explosion, and the fire service said there had been a loud pop caused by the blaze.
