A Bulls club statement said: "Paul was a loyal and respected fan of the Bradford Bulls Club, he also committed so much of his free time to Bullbuilder who raise funds to support the Development and progress of the Bradford Bulls scholarship and Academy players.

"Paul's commitment to the club extended into player welfare and management of first grade and academy players, giving his time and expertise where ever needed.

"Paul was highly respected by all at the Bradford Bulls Club, he will be sadly missed, our sincere condolences go to his wife Pat and his family."

A statement from Bullbuilder, the Bradford Bulls Supporters Trust, said: “Paul was an enthusiastic and dedicated BullBuilder committee member for many years who helped to get BullBuilder up and running and performed the role of secretary.

“He put many hours of his own time and always maintained a positive and inspirational outlook.

“He provided loyal support to all members of the BullBuilder committee and was an integral and steadfast member of the team.

“Whether it was his passionate commitment to player welfare, or the development of youth players, he had a selflessness and professionalism that meant if he did something it was always done well.
