COUNCILLORS have been advised to dismiss a petition for a residents parking scheme on a Bradford street.

Members of the Bradford West Area Committee, which meets on Wednesday, will be presented with a 38-signature document calling for permit parking to be introduced on Naples Street (pictured) in the Manningham area of the city.

The petitioners state they are “concerned” over what is described as “dangerous” and “double” parking on the street.

A report to go before the committee states that “it would not be usual practice to introduce permit parking on a single street as this would merely transfer any problem from one street to another”, instead advocating increased enforcement by police and Council wardens.
