PARKING restrictions are to be imposed on a short stretch of busy West Lane in Keighley near its junction with Luton Street.

The “no waiting at any time” restrictions are part of a mini-package of traffic measures along the bottom length of West Lane, which could also include new signs and road lining.

Keighley Area Committee, part of Bradford Council, last year approved money for the measures.

In future years the committee could be asked to approve cash for at least three other schemes along West Lane – which connects the town centre to Blackhill and Keighley Tarn -- to improve road safety.

The committee’s list of outstanding requests for work on West Lane includes a 20mph limit outside Our Lady of Victories School, traffic calming and pedestrian improvements between the junctions with Oakworth Road and Calver Avenue, and a parking ban at the junction with Braithwaite Avenue.
