MEMBERS of the Calder Valley Search and Rescue Team were called to the same area of Bradford twice in the space of two days earlier this week, it has been confirmed.
At around 2.30pm on Monday, the team received a request from Yorkshire Ambulance Service to assist with the evacuation of a 51-year-old man with a back injury from near Chellow Dene Reservoir.
Members were ultimately stood down en-route to the incident after ambulance crews managed to safely remove the man.
At the same time the following day, the team were called back to Chellow Dene to assist paramedics with the rescue of a 74-year-old woman who had fallen and sustained a broken leg while out walking in woodland.
Once at the scene, members packaged the casualty in a vacuum mattress and evacuated her via stretcher to a waiting ambulance.
The incidents capped off a busy five-day period for the team following call-outs to deal with a stricken walker at Widdop Reservoir near Hebden Bridge on Sunday, and a road traffic accident in Rishworth on October 5.
