A 33-YEAR-OLD man is facing jail after being found guilty of sexually abusing a young girl.
Mohammed Waqar, of Devonshire Street in Keighley, was convicted of seven charges of sexual assault of a girl under 13 following a trial at Bradford Crown Court.
The jury also found him guilty on one count of causing a child to watch a sexual act, clearing him of another allegation of the same offence.
During the trial, Waqar, who is married with children, was said to have pulled down the child’s trousers, touched her indecently and showed her pornographic films.
Prosecutor, Deborah Smithies, told the jury the abuse had begun two years ago when the girl was aged eight, with Waqar’s actions reported when she told her mother in September last year.
Recorder Rachael Harrison granted Waqar bail ahead of his sentencing on December 1.
