A MAN has been arrested after threatening police with a sword during a stand-off at a house in Bingley.
The incident occurred at around 1pm when officers were called to a house in Belgrave Road.
On arrival, they were "confronted" in a garden by the man, who it is understood was wielding a samurai sword.
He was later arrested after armed police attended the scene.
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Police said: "Police attended an address in Bingley at just before 1pm this afternoon following a call of concern for parties there.
"Officers attended and were confronted in the garden by a 49-year-old male possessing a long bladed weapon.
"Armed police were called to the area and arrested the man nearby.
"No-one was injured in the incident and the 49-year-old remains in custody on suspicion of a public order offence.
"Enquires into the incident remain ongoing and local officers will be speaking with residents to offer reassurance."
