PLANS to turn empty shop units on Manningham Lane into a cafe have been submitted to Bradford Council.

Amjid Hussain has submitted a change of use planning application that would see 246 - 250 Manningham Lane converted from retail units to a restaurant/cafe.

The building is currently made up of two vacant shops, a former beauty store and tanning salon.

The application says: “The concept of the outlet is to serve a healthier food option for the passer by’s and workers in the local vicinity. It will be serving variations of teas and coffees as well as light beverages with sandwiches and snacks.” It also says it will give an “added vibrancy to the area.”

Proposed opening times are listed as being from 11am to 11pm.

A decision on the application is expected to be made by the council in November.
