A STORE thief who stabbed a woman shop assistant in the leg with a hypodermic needle is in custody awaiting a prison sentence.
Gina Barker, 37, of Peel Park House, Cliffe Road, Undercliffe, Bradford, pleaded guilty to assaulting Jane Charlotte and causing her actual bodily harm at Tesco Extra in Batley Shopping Centre on August 27.
Barker also admitted threatening Mackayla McLaughlin with a hypodermic needle at the Co-op in Wrose Road, Shipley, on June 11, stealing two bottles of whisky from the store, stealing groceries from Tesco Extra in Batley on August 27 and common assault on Russel Sowray and Sabar Nawaz.
At Bradford Crown Court today, Prosecutor Duncan Ritchie asked for the case to be adjourned for a victim impact statement to be obtained from Miss Charlotte, who was stabbed in the knee.
Barker will be sentenced on October 20.
