A SECOND man has been arrested following a robbery where an elderly woman had her bag stolen.

The 39-year-old has been arrested by police today over the robbery, which took place at the junction of Southfield Lane and Low Green Terrace in Great Horton at around 12.30pm on Monday.

The victim, a woman aged 74, attended hospital for treatment but was not seriously injured.

Police are still appealing for anyone who might know someone with a white jacket similar to the one used in the offence, which was hooded with a black line on the shoulder and a badge on one of the arms, to get in touch.

Information about the handbag which was stolen is also being sought.

It is described as a small black bag with a single strap, with a black shadow type pattern in the material, a jewelled keyring hanging off the strap and a chain attached to a small black purse.

Patrols have been increased in the area following the incident on Monday.

The arrest follows a 30-year-old man being detained on suspicion of the robbery, who has been released pending further inquiries.
