BRADFORD siblings Levi and Eden-Joy Williams will spend this evening (Thursday October 5) sleeping under the stars.

Nine-year-old Levi and his eight-year-old sister will be joined by their mum Hanna, Dad Mark and their dog Finley when they bed down for the night under the arches near Forster Square Station in their home city of Bradford to support the Suits on the Streets initiative.

It is the fifth year the initiative, which encourages business people to swap their comfortable beds for a night sleeping on the street to raise the profile of homelessness, has been hosted in the city by Bradford-based Inn Churches, a charitable network supporting homeless and vulnerable people.

Inspired by their mum, who began working for Inn Churches four years ago after previously running a Christian community house in Idle, Levi and Eden-Joy were keen to help raise much-needed cash for the cause and enable Inn Churches to support more homeless people, particularly during the winter months.

So far the siblings, who attend Thorpe Primary School in Idle, have raised around £300.

Hanna says participating in Suits on the Streets will give the children an insight into the plight homeless people face.

And despite spending the night sleeping on the street, they will be back behind their desks at school the following morning.

"They learn what it feels like when they meet people who are struggling and can empathise with them," says proud mum Hanna.

And it promises to be a real family affair as the siblings' cousin, 13-year-old Beau-Anya will entertain with her harp.

"I am so proud of them," says Hanna.
