FIREFIGHTERS pelted with stones and bricks while attending a rubbish fire have said the latest incident is the "third or fourth" deliberate attack at the same location this year.
A crew from Fairweather Green were targeted a "large group of youths" as they attended the blaze on land off Green Lane, in Lidget Green, Bradford, at around 7.15pm last night.
Crew commander Ahsan Ali said the youths had set fire to a large pile of rubbish on the field and then run away when they saw the firefighters approaching.
As they were dealing with the blaze, the youths returned and began hurling stones and bricks at the crew.
Police have been informed of the incident, which Mr Ali said was the latest in a series of attacks at the same site.
"It was extremely lucky that no-one was hurt," he said.
"I think they just light the fires so that they can do this. It is all very unneccessary, and very dangerous.
"It has happened three or four times this year now, and when you are called to this area, you are always on high alert."
