AN online leisurewear company touched down in Las Vegas to unveil its new American Football-inspired clothing range.

Voltage Sport co-founders, Keil Nelson, 34, and Caroline Towers, 35, hope to tap into the growing popularity of the National Football League (NFL) in the UK, with their range of men’s and women’s clothing which includes baseball-style T-shirts.

The garments all feature a logo which includes a Union flag with an American football bursting through it.

Voltage Sport was formed in March this year and sells a number of sports and leisurewear items including T-shirts, vests, baseball caps, beanies and wall prints.

The couple run their online-only business from their home in Cottingley, Bingley.

They also hope to expand their total range of between 40 and 50 items into hoodies in the future and sell their items in independent stores.

They were in Las Vegas to attend a number of business conventions, including the Olympia Fitness And Performance Expo and a cycling event, to help promote their brand and make further international connections.

The couple unveiled their new NFL-inspired range in front of the Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas sign on The Strip.

They have also been working with the Department for International Trade as they look to expand into the US and beyond.

Mr Nelson said it was fun to unveil the first part of their American Football collection in Las Vegas.

He said: “It made sense while we were in Las Vegas on business to launch our new collection.

“The NFL is one of the biggest sports in America and has been rapidly growing in England, we wanted to do something fun so we launched the first part of the collection, which is a T-shirt for men and women, in front of the famous Las Vegas sign.”

Miss Towers, who also runs another online company, said the couple’s business was inspired by their mutual interest in sport, including going to the gym.

She added: “We want to keep our business online. We will just see what is popular and what people like.

“The business is going really well and is going well online, we have had orders from the US.

“We are looking to expand more in the future and have more NFL and cycling items.”

Miss Towers added: “One of mine and Keil’s biggest interests was sport and going to the gym, so we decided to start this business.

“I have been self-employed for seven years and Keil has a full-time job, but we decided to do this together.”

Voltage Sport has already seen success with a number of other collections, including clothing inspired by this year’s Tour de Yorkshire, with Vive Le Yorkshire slogans on them, alongside fitness motivational quotes for people and their own signature Bolt collections.

These slogans include Be Bright, Be Bold, High Energy and Charged Up.
