DRESS Down Fridays have never been such fun at a Bradford company, after staff collected a tidy sum to share between four charities chosen by colleagues.

The monthly dress down day by staff at Pitts Wilson Ltd, based at Cutler House, in Wakefield Road, raised £1,000.

Service project co-ordinator Tracy Stead said: "We asked all our staff to choose a charity that is close to their hearts. "We all have family and friends close to us that suffer on a daily basis who need help from these good causes. As it was the staffs' contributions that raised the money it was only fair they chose what charities it went to.

"All the charities do marvellous work and they all deserve recognition. We were thrilled to have been able to raise something for them."

The four beneficiaries were Bradford Marie Curie Hospice, Motor Neurone Disease Unit based at Leeds General Infirmary, Brain Tumour Research and Support, Yorkshire and Leeds Mind.

Each of the chosen charities received a cheque for £250.

Gemma Green, from Leeds Mind, called at the company and accepted her charity's cheque from Mark Ellse, Pitts Wilson Ltd fire systems manager.
