TIM Peake was given what he light-heartedly described as a “grilling” by a group of Bradford pupils.
A total of 30 pupils from Bradford Forster Academy took part in a question-and-answer session in the museum’s Cubby Broccoli cinema.
He faced questions including ‘how did he pass his time in space?’.
Mr Peake said his typical working week had included 12-hour days but he and his fellow astronauts could relax at weekends during their mission.
The pupils also asked him what experiments he carried out on the International Space Station.

He said the group had carried out 250 experiments, including pharmaceutical research.
He was also jokingly asked what was his favourite chocolate bar – to which he replied: “Mars bar!”
Bradford Forster Academy was picked to be the only school at yesterday’s event after a visit by pupils last year.
All the children were invited to submit a question they would like to ask Mr Peake, with 30 pupils chosen to go along.
Science teacher Nick Lees said: “This has been a fantastic opportunity for the children. They have been doing about space at school. It’s great to get them out and seeing what they have been talking about at school.
“It also gave the children the chance to meet an astronaut like Tim Peake, they were made up with that.”
