POLICE teams are still searching for the body of Tyron Charles.

Officers are continuing an underwater search of Doe Park in Denholme and also on land on Oxenhope Moor, helped by sniffer dogs from Northumbria police.

Senior Investigating Officer, Detective Chief Inspector Jim Griffiths of the Homicide and Major Enquiry Team, said: “Our officers are continuing an underwater search in Doe Park in Denholme and on land on Oxenhope Moor.

“We have not received any recent reported sightings of Mr Charles and this sustains our belief that he has come to serious harm.

“We are continuing to appeal to anyone who may have seen or heard from him on or after Wednesday, September 6, or anyone who has any information, however small it may seem, to come forward."

Trained officers are continuing to support Mr Charles’ family.

Anyone with information should contact the Homicide and Major Enquiries team on 101, quoting 13170414379.

Information can also be passed anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Mr Charles, 29, was last seen earlier this month.

James Sutcliffe, 28, of Hillcrest Road, Denholme, appeared before Bradford Crown Court last week to face the murder allegation. He did not enter a plea.

A 60-year-old man arrested on suspicion of murder last Monday has since been released from police custody without charge.

As part of the police investigation, extensive searches have been carried out at Bradford Council's outdoor activity centre at Doe Park, Denholme, and a nearby allotment.

A police forensics team has also been at work at a rented house in Unity Street South, Bingley, where Mr Charles had lived.
