A MAN has been jailed for 16 months for shouting threats while waving a meat cleaver and a large kitchen knife near Bradford University.

Carlos Carter, 31, lost his temper with his friend after the men fell out when he asked him to leave his bedsit on Great Horton Road.

Carter took the weapons from his home at 11.25am on August 31 while on prison licence for house burglary, Bradford Crown Court heard.

He pleaded guilty to threatening Liam Moore with a bladed article and two offences of possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

The police were called by a member of staff at the university who heard Carter shouting: "I'll stab you."

Carter had 35 previous convictions for 75 offences, including possession of bladed articles and offensive weapons, robbery, assault and affray.

In December, 2015, he was jailed for three years for house burglary and had now been recalled to prison, the court was told.
