A 25-YEAR-OLD man from Pakistan faces deportation after an immigration raid on a Bradford barber shop.
The raid took place at The Barber Shop, St Enoch's Road, Wibsey, where the man worked.
Immigration Enforcement officers visited the shop, at around 1.45pm yesterday, after receiving intelligence he worked there and checks found he had overstayed his visa.
A Home Office spokesman said he is currently in detention while steps are taken to remove him from the UK.
The spokesman added the business was served with a referral notice in relation to the illegal worker.
The notice warns that a financial penalty of up to £20,000 will be imposed unless the employers can demonstrate that appropriate right-to-work document checks were carried out, such as seeing a passport or Home Office document confirming permission to work.
An employee at The Barber Shop denied a raid had taken place when contacted by the Telegraph & Argus yesterday.
Witnesses said they saw two white marked immigration enforcement vans outside the shop.
