PROP Ross Peltier admitted it was an easy decision to sign a new two-year deal with the Bulls.

The popular forward has become the latest player to commit his future to Odsal as the rebuild for League One begins in earnest.

Peltier's no-nonsense approach had attracted interest from elsewhere but the boyhood Bulls fan needed no persuasion to stay.

The Jamaica international said: "I'm really happy to have re-signed for this club.

"When I first joined the Bulls last year it felt like a dream come true, so to commit two more years here was an easy choice.

"There's no doubt that it has been a tough year and I did have a few other offers from people in the league. But I always knew in my mind that I wanted to re-sign for this club.

"I feel like I've made a lot of progression here and made some real strides forwards to improve my game."

Peltier came through the Odsal academy before joining Huddersfield Giants. He returned to the Bulls last November on a one-year deal.

His powerful runs and big presence on the field has made him a favourite with the fans as well as the coaching staff.

He finished the season with a flourish by scoring three tries in the final two games, including two of the 13 in Sunday's crushing 72-16 win over Rochdale.

With relegation long confirmed, the Bulls threw off the shackles in the Championship Shield to win five of their last six outings.

Peltier believes it was a show of defiance to remind other teams about what the players are still capable of at the end of a gruelling campaign.

He said: "Finishing the season the way that we have done was our way of stamping down our final mark on the league. Albeit it came a little too late but we wanted to show what are we're about.

"The only way is up for this club now. We have come out of the back of a tough season and people are only going to be better for it."

Peltier becomes the seventh contract signing to be announced in the last week, including Dane Chisholm, Liam Kirk and Ross Oakes.

More are expected to follow shortly as the Bulls look to get their squad in shape as early as possible.
