ABI Lee believes form will go out of the window as Bradford City Women take on league leaders Huddersfield Town tonight.

The Bantams make the short trip down the M62 looking for their third win in a row but face a difficult challenge against the FA Women's Premier League Northern Division pacesetters.

Yet Lee thinks the local derby will be decided simply by sheer desire on the night, not which team has started their season better.

"I'll be honest, I'm really unsure what to expect," she said.

"Obviously they've had changes in personnel and management but I feel it's never really about football in a fixture like this. It's just about who wants it more.

"There's a lot of familiar faces on both sides, so that always adds something to the fire, and it's a night game, which is always a good atmosphere.

"I think it's a fixture everyone looks forward to as it's a derby and it's one that both teams want to win a little bit more than other games that we play."

Town bounced back from their first defeat of the season with a win at Derby on Sunday, meaning they have started the campaign with four wins from five.

City are gathering momentum after a slow start, beating Wolves last time out after their penalty shootout victory over Fylde in the League Cup.

"They have obviously picked up some good results and are on a good run – but so have we in the last few weeks, so I think both teams are going into this in good form," said Lee.

"Like I said before, both teams have a lot of familiar faces so everyone knows the way certain players play, which is an advantage and a negative at the same time."

Lee added: "I think our week off can definitely help us. It's given players the chance to have a bit of a boost and it's also given us a chance to work on things in training to take into the game.

"We've worked a lot on movement for the forwards as this is something we have been slightly less creative with.

"It's been important for us to go to training and grasp some new ideas, just getting to know the partnerships on the pitch, knowing where people like the ball playing.

"We're going into the game with massive positives from this work and hopefully we can carry on from where we left off with Wolves."
