A police cordon was put in place over the weekend at Doe Park in Denholme, and officers remain there today while they continue their investigation.

Police divers are also at the site, which is an outdoor activity centre with a large boating lake.

Police say they are continuing to liaise with the missing person’s family.

A 28-year-old man from Bradford was arrested on Saturday and remains in police custody.

A police spokesman added: At this time, we have not recovered a body.”

Police have not said which missing person's case the investigation related to.

Police have declined to link the investigation to the search for missing Tyron Charles, 29, whose family said was last seen in Denholme on Wednesday, September 6.

Bradford Council, which runs the activity centre on Doe Park Reservoir, has announced that the facility will be closed while the investigation continues.

The heavy police presence is believed to have started on Saturday evening. On Sunday, the road leading to Doe Park water activities centre had been condoned off.

Police are understood to have been searching a number of locations along Foster Park View, Denholme, over the past three days.

Locals have also reported a large amount of police activity on the village's Hillcrest estate. This afternoon, a police van could be seen on Hillcrest Road.

When the Telegraph & Argus visited on Sunday, a police cordon blocked the road, which leads to Doe Park water activities centre.

CID officers appeared to be attending to a crime scene outside the activities centre’s boundary, near a green shipping container where Foster Park View meets a public footpath, while police vehicles could also be seen down by the centre itself.

The police then widened the cordon to include the entrance to a yard off Foster Park View, while the force helicopter circled overhead. Spotlights were also used to allow the search to continue into the evening.

Members of the public had reported seeing police search an allotment site outside the cordon area, further up Foster Park View, on Saturday evening.

A number of police vans, cars and unmarked vehicles were also spotted at the scene yesterday afternoon.

Two forensic investigators in white suits were seen on the footpath, alongside police and police community support officers (PCSOs) who were searching an allotment area which was also cordoned off.

A PCSO was guarding the scene at the top of the lane leading to the centre, as dog walkers and other residents were told the area was not accessible as investigations continued.

Councillor Simon Cooke (Cons) who represents the Denholme area on the Council, said: “It doesn’t seem that police think there is an ongoing threat.

“I hope people will cooperate with the police investigation.”

Councillor Michael Ellis (Cons, Bingley Rural), said: “We have received some details from police, but only scant details of what has happened. Because of what they have been doing down there they must have some sort of indication that there is a body in that area, in or around Doe Park. It is quite a big area.

“Our thoughts have to be with the family, whoever they are.”

Speaking today, one local said Denholme had been “swarming with police”.

He said: “It was swarming last night, at half nine, ten o’clock, with lots and lots of police. There doesn’t seem to be as many today.”

He said he had seen two forensics officers in white suits examining the green shipping container.

He said: “They have definitely uncovered something in that container.”

A Bradford Council spokesperson, said: “Doe Park Water Activities Centre will remain closed while police enquiries are on-going. We are making alternative arrangements for activity sessions and letting people know.”Activities held on the reservoir include sailing, canoeing, kayaking, dragon boating and raft building, and it is used by clubs and local schools.
