TWO teenagers have been seriously injured in an early morning car crash.
Emergency services were called to Edderthorpe Street, off Leeds Road, Barkerend, at 2am after reports a car had crashed into a gate.
When they arrived they found that there were three people in the vehicle, a white BMW.
A fire crew from Bradford station gave them first aid until paramedics arrived.
The driver, a man aged 18, sustained serious injuries and remains in hospital in a serious, but stable condition.
A passenger in the vehicle, a woman aged 19, was also seriously injured.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service sent three ambulances, two rapid response vehicles and a hazardous area response team. Two people were taken to Leeds General Infirmary and one was sent to Bradford Royal Infirmary.
Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the crash to come forward.
The car was thought to have been travelling in the direction of Leeds Road when it crashed into a gate post on Edderthorpe Street, around 200 yards from the junction with Hammerton Street.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Safer Roads team on 101, quoting log number 96 of 18/9.
