A MEMBER of the Kenyan Education Ministry has visited a Bingley school with strong links to the country.

During the summer break Jamil Parapia, Bingley Grammar School’s established Kenyan partnership lead, visited Nairobi with Phil Hawkins from PiXL International with a view to create PiXL Kenya.

PiXL is a partnership of schools that work together to try and improve students’ life chances. Bingley Grammar School has been working with a number of Kenyan schools for five years now and felt it would benefit them to become a part of the PiXL family.

During their visit they were welcomed by Dr. Lorna Mwangi, part of the Kenyan Education Ministry, and this week Dr Mwangi and Mr Hawkins visited the Bingley school for strategic discussions and lesson observations.

Dr Mwangi also joined Mr Hawkins at the PiXL main office and conference in London on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Mr Hawkins said: "A huge thanks to Bingley Grammar and we look forward to continuing the journey together in February 2018 as a team heads back to Nairobi for the next stage of training.”
