ASSOCIATED Waste Management (AWM) will show its support for a children’s charity by promoting its donation details on its vehicles.
The firm, which has a plant in Shipley, is supporting children’s cancer charity Candlelighters, via text messaging, as its vehicles will display details of the charity’s text to donate number.
This is one of a number of schemes the Leeds-based company have organised to back Candlelighters, the Yorkshire-wide charity, supporting children with cancer and their families.
Added to the Text to Donate signage, on 35 of its vehicles, AWM are also providing a location for parents with children undergoing treatment, to meet.
A bereaved fathers group will also hold a golf day courtesy of the company.
Mike Robinson, of AWM, said: “Having seen the support offered to the children and their families, we wanted to support Candlelighters as much as possible.
“We have a number of ideas to get even more involved with the charity.”
