FIRE crews were called to a house in the early hours of today after an electrical appliance caught fire in a kitchen drawer.
Crews from Cleckheaton were called to the incident in Broomfield Terrace, Cleckheaton, at around 4.30am today.
The kitchen of the property was badly smoked damage by the fire.
A spokesman for Cleckheaton fire station said: "We were called to a small fire in a kitchen drawer which looked like it was caused by an electrical appliance in the drawer which had caught fire.
"The two people in the property had got themselves out, and there was quite a lot of smoke damage to the kitchen.
"We used breathing apparatus, one hose reel and a fan to clear the smoke."
