EIGHT members of a Bradford family including an eight-week old baby, a three-year-old and two asthma sufferers had to be rescued from a lift at The Broadway on Sunday evening.
The lift broke down at around 9.25pm and they were eventually rescued by Bradford Fire Service around an hour later.
Zarina Asam, from Undercliife, said they waited for a response from the lift engineer through an emergency number which took 20 minutes, by which time they had managed to get signal and phoned 999.
“It was traumatizing because we had no idea how long we would be there,” she said.
A spokesman for Bradford fire station said they had attended at 9.50pm and liaised with the lift engineer to free the family.
The Broadway has been asked for a comment but has not yet responded.
The Broadway car park is open until 11pm on Sunday evenings.
