Bradford city centre is one of the cheapest places in the country to buy a house, new research has found.
BD1 is the fifth most affordable postcode in the country, according to figures published by web-blinds.com - with an hourly wage of just £4.01 needed to get on the housing ladder.
That's cheap enough that even an 18-year-old earning the minimum wage of £4.05 should be able to buy property there.
In all, seven Bradford postcodes are reckoned to be cheap enough to afford on the minimum wage for a 25-year-old of £7.50.
The most expensive postcode in the district is BD17 for Baildon, where a wage of £14.16 an hour - or £25,488 a year - would be needed to buy a home.
The figures are based on a single person working a 37.5 hour week and spending 35% of their income on mortgage repayments - the amount the Shelter charity defines as affordable - and take into account average house prices in an area, assuming a 20 per cent deposit and a 25-year fixed rate mortgage at 2.63 per cent interest.
