FOURTEEN planning enforcement notices have been handed out across the city of Bradford in the past few months, a planning committee heard.
Bradford Planning Panel was given a list of sites where enforcement officers had stepped in and taken action over unauthorised developments.
This included an enforcement notice served in June at an unauthorised car sales business at 124, Allerton Road, Bradford.
In June, a notice was served at a takeaway at 6, Ruswarp Crescent, Eccleshill, where it appeared that a planning condition limiting opening hours was “continuing to be breached”. In March, an enforcement notice was served at 92 to 96 Lapage Street, Bradford, where a first-floor rear extension, canopy structure and external staircase had been built “for which the local planning authority had no record of planning permission having been granted”.
In April, the Council served an enforcement notice over unauthorised roller shutters and signage at the Grade II listed Connaught Rooms, 32-36 Manningham Lane.
Also in April, it served an enforcement notice for unauthorised use of land at Delph Farm, Holts Lane, Clayton, for training dogs.
Another notice was served in July for BMS House, Thornton Road, for unauthorised mixed use for the sale, supply and storage of vehicles and MOT testing, repairing, servicing and valeting
A report to the committee outlined the change of use had been challenged in writing and there were two applications which were refused.
It said: "The main issue for the most recent refusal being highway safety."
