A BRADFORD band will play a homecoming concert in the city before they support a major star on her North American tour.

Scars on 45 will perform at Artworks Creative Communities, Delius Arts & Cultural Centre, Great Horton Road, Bradford, on Friday, September 15, between 7.30pm and 10.30pm.

It will be a warm-up for the group’s support stint with Tori Amos, famous for hits including Cornflake Girl and Professional Widow, on her US and Canada Native Invader tour.

The 20-date stint with the singer will start on October 24, in St Paul, Minneapolis, and finish on December 3, in Los Angeles, California.

They will also play in cities including Toronto, New York and Chicago during the tour.

Tori Amos tweeted: “Excited to announce that @scarson45 will be opening the shows on the North American leg of the tour. Come early.”

The band, who all come from the Bradford district, are lead singer and guitarist Danny Bemrose, vocalist Aimee Driver and keyboard player David ‘Nova’ Nowakowski.

A statement on the band’s website said they were looking forward to performing in their home city before jetting out to America again after completing their summer US tour last week.

It said: “We’re back to Yorkshire to play a one-off intimate acoustic show in our lovely hometown Bradford.

“We’ll be debuting a load of new songs as well as favourites from the first and second record in this beautiful converted church in the centre of Bradford.”

The band, whose tunes have been heard on TV shows including CSI: New York and Grey’s Anatomy, were handed a civic reception in Bradford in January 2015, held at City Hall by then Lord Mayor, Councillor Mike Gibbons.

The band also recorded the theme song for the latest series of BBC drama The Syndicate, following the lives of five Yorkshire supermarket workers who win the lottery, which was screened in the summer of 2015.
